About

I'm an American artist living in Spain. I first became interested in Spain while researching the work of Antonio López García as an MFA student at the Mt. Royal School of Art at the Maryland Institute College of Art. I later relocated to Madrid to investigate his work further by completing a masters program in Contemporary Spanish Art History at the Universidad Complutense.

Spain influences my work completely; the environments of the towns I visit, the nature I am drawn to, and the interiors I take refuge in show up regularly in my artwork. Textures and patterns have always caught my eye and are of utmost importance in my realist graphite drawings. Now, after so much upheaval in the world and months of isolation, fresh air beckons. The flora and fauna right outside inspire a more illustrative style with color, energy, and provide a restorative connection to nature.
